Surrender certificate first: the Fresh OCI order that avoids refusals

Indian law does not allow dual nationality. After you naturalise as British, your Indian passport must be surrendered and a renunciation / surrender certificate obtained. Fresh OCI cannot be finalised until this step is complete.
