Who is eligible for OCI Miscellaneous
When you need OCI Miscellaneous
Issuance of new passport (with changes)
When you receive a new foreign passport and your case does not fit a simple OCI Link — for example because of additional changes (name / DOB / nationality), or the first new passport after turning 20.
Change of personal particulars
Name change (marriage, deed poll), DOB correction, or nationality change. The new OCI booklet reflects the updated details.
Loss or damage of OCI certificate
Replacement of a lost, stolen, or damaged OCI card. A police report may be required for lost cards. Embassy fee for loss / damage is £75 (instead of the standard £21).
First passport after turning 20 (one-time)
If your OCI was originally issued when you were below 20 and you are now 20 or above, a one-time OCI re-issue/new booklet is required at the first new passport after turning 20. After this one-time re-issue, future passport changes follow standard OCI Link.

FAQ
Common questions
When do I need OCI Miscellaneous instead of OCI Link?
You need Miscellaneous when there are changes to your personal particulars (name, DOB, nationality), address, occupation, in case of loss / damage of your OCI card — or for the one-time new booklet at the first new passport after turning 20 (when OCI was originally issued below age 20). OCI Link is for a straightforward passport change within 90 days where no other changes apply.
OCI made below 20 — and I'm now 20+ with a new passport. Which service?
OCI Miscellaneous (£125). Once the applicant turns 20 and receives the first new passport after that, a one-time OCI re-issue/new booklet is required — not simple linking. After this one-time re-issue, future passport changes follow standard OCI Link.
I am still under 20 and my passport has changed — do I need Miscellaneous?
No. For OCI holders below the age of 20, each new passport requires online passport detail update/linking — apply via OCI Link with New Passport (£100), not Miscellaneous. A new OCI booklet is NOT required at every renewal under 20. The one-time new booklet requirement applies at the first passport AFTER turning 20.
Do I need to attend a VFS appointment for Miscellaneous?
Yes. OCI Miscellaneous requires a VFS appointment for biometrics and document submission. We prepare the full file online (24–48 hours), book your appointment at the correct VFS centre for your postcode, and stay on WhatsApp during the appointment.
What about the 90-day window?
The 90-day window applies to OCI Link only — Miscellaneous Services has its own process. If you are past 90 days and your case needs Miscellaneous (e.g. name change, lost card, etc.), the case can usually still be processed; a late fee/penalty (currently around £23 plus VFS charges) may apply. WhatsApp us your dates and we will confirm any penalty and exact route before you commit.
